"Growing as Disciples" is our theme here at Hockessin United Methodist Church as we proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and celebrate our life together before God by loving God and serving our neighbors. All persons, including children, are cordially invited to come and share our joy through our Sunday morning worship services. Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of the month at all three services and is available to all who come to the Lord's table with a sincere longing for God's forgiveness and presence in their lives.
Our worship services reflect the different needs of our faith community.
Sunday, 8:30 am. - Traditional Service. Nursery and child care is available for children younger than 6 in rooms 7 and 8.
Sunday, 9:45 am. - Contemporary Service; music lead by the praise team. Nursery is available for children younger than 3 in rooms 7 and 8.
Sunday, 11:00 am. - Traditional Service. Nursery is available for children younger ages 4 and younger in rooms 7 and 8.
Our Traditional Methodist Service appeals to worshippers who prefer a mainline denominational worship style. The organ, piano, and the choir support the hymn singing and provide special music.
The Contemporary worship services feature a praise band (drums, guitars, keyboards, other percussion and singers) and a somewhat more casual atmosphere for those who may not have a church background or for those who simply prefer a more contemporary style of worship.
